Tool Pallette for P& ID Drawing (Autocad Plant 3D)

Hi,

I tried to use AutoCad Plant 3D (Work space P& ID) to draw P& ID.

But, my tool pallete for P&ID is limited (no equipment, no valve, line, etc).

I have tried to find the plug in at AutoDesk App Store. And, search information in community.

I still cannot solve the problem. I might use wrong method to sketch P&ID.

Please refer to attached picture.

Appreciate if you all could enligten me.

Thanks.

Thanks Mr. Hartmut for answering my doubt.

I managed to get the tool palette by selecting PID PIP at Properties Tab.

But, after clicking the valve/equipments, command pop out "valve could not be found in current project.". Meanwhile, there is no problem for inserting line.

Appreciate if you point out what is the reason.

Thanks.

A couple of things. The tool palettes you are showing in your first screen shot are Dynamic Tool Palettes created specifically for the 3d side of Plant 3D. Do not use them for P&ID. If you are seeing them you are using the wrong workspace or are on the wrong side of the program. You can disable them by typing the command PLANTDYNAMICTOOLPALETTES and then choosing disable. I think you have figured out how to change workspaces already. Another thing you will need to do is create the drawing under the P&ID Drawing section and not the Plant 3D Drawings section in your project manager. The 3d side and the P&ID side use diffrent databases, different Catalogs, and different drawing templates for symbols so it could explain why it cannot find anything. If you have already started a drawing on the wrong side you will have to trash it and start on the right side under P&ID drawings.

Thanks Mr. Brady for clear explanation.

I have clearer image after explanation.
But, is that mean I need to draw P&ID first, then just come out ISO Drawing?
Or even I have sketch ISO drawing, I cannot convert directly into P&ID?
I need to sketch twice (ISO & PnID) for same routine?

Thanks.
