Help or advice please. Moving back to Plant 3D (2021) after a couple of years in PDMS.

I am creating a new piping spec in a new project. I have created the project in Project Manager.

When creating new spec, the pipe dia`s are imperial, yet the dia`s in the spec viewer are metric.

I wish to have metric dimensions with imperial dia`s.

Am I missing a tick box somewhere?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Your project units need to be set to Mixed Metric to show metric dimensions for pipes/fittings with imperial nominal sizes.

When you were creating the project, did you choose Mixed Metric units on the second page of the Project Setup Wizard?  This is the option you need. The Spec Viewer will default to showing imperial sizes. If you selected Metric Millimetres the Spec Viewer defaults to showing metric equivalent sizes.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Andy

Thanks for the reply Andy,

I did set up another default project and noticed this.

For future reference, is there any way to update future projects before the project gathers steam?

Thanks again

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately not - once the project has been created you can't change the project units.  FYI, you cannot copy drawings between projects with different project units either.

Regards,

Andy
