Report Creator : Weld Report template

Tried to search online but unable to find some information specifically related Tap Weld sizes on Report Creator.

I created a Weld Report Template in P3D Report Creator.

As shown on the screenshots below. I used Buttweld_Shop_Field, Socketweld_Shop_Field and TapWeld_Shop_Field fields. I am happy with the Butt welds and Socket welds output quantities.

Is their a way to show the Tap Weld Size? Currently I can only get the nominal size and shop/field values. If possible the output on TapWeld column will show size as well example. "SHOP - DN20" or "FIELD - DN20"

Thank you in advance.

Hello

Sorry for my English, which I don't speak and whose post has been translated with DeepL Translator

You can create a calculated field that will concatenate the type of weld (Shop, Field, Field_Fit) with the nominal diameter.

You will have to create as many fields as the type of weld: ButtWeld, SocketWeld, TapWeld, FusionWeld

The syntax of the calculated field will be of this type:

Concat([Buttweld_Shop_Field],' - DN',[Engineering_Elements_NominalDiameter] )

Be careful, as I am on a French version of Plant 3D, there is a translation of the properties.

Here is a screencast that will show you the process

Bonjour

I already used Engineering_Item_Nominal Diameter to get the sizes for butt and socket welds. But unable to get the correct size for the Tap Welds (which is the olet sizes).

Hopefully their is a way to get the actual Tap weld size so we can accurately get the DiaInch summary report.

Thank you for your reply.

There is no out-of-the-box method to get tapweld sizes as far as I could find. I ended up having to set up a plugin to iterate each olet, find its coordinate and size, then find a tapweld at the same coordinate and plug the size into it. I don't know of any other way to make this happen - maybe someone else does?

@DVaquand  @jabowabo  Thank you for your response.

creating Plugins is beyond my knowledge. Just hoping someone can can find a way to get tapweld sizes in the future.
