Plant 3D Automatically at Pipe Supports at a Defined Interval

Hi All,

Is it possible to automatically add pipe supports into a piping model at a defined interval? Say I have the following model and want to add in pipe supports at all red locations (6m intervals).

PIPE SUPPORTS.png

Is there some sort of pipe support add command that all details can be passed via the AutoCAD command line (then VBA can be used to automate the process), or can you add pipe supports into the drawing via the Plant 3D SQLite database? enabling automation via SQL programming? or another method I am not aware of?

Thanks in advance for any assistance! 🙂

Cheers,

Josh

Is it possible? Sure.

Having said that. There's nothing built in to the program to do this. I don't know of any third party applications that will do it either.

The API should allow you to find pipes and place supports. Someone would have to write a program to do this.

Hey Peter,

Thanks for the response. Good to know.

I guess ill just do it manually then, as I dont have sufficient experience with the API to write this code myself at this stage.

Cheers,

Josh
