Piping Components properties disappear

I started new project and I draw 2 manifolds, I use AutoCAD Plant 3D 2019, and suddenly it is not responding, after reopening I found that all piping components not able to be copied of tagging and also properties just (general + 3D visualization) appear and all other data disappeared, I could not connect new parts to the exist components.

when I select all the drawing trying to copy it to another space in the model just gaskets copied and all other components not copied.

I attached the drawing I have if some one can help me to not draw from the beginning again.

Ahmed

In this drawing, Drawing 1. dwg, there are components from Plant 3D, but they have no connection to the database!
I haven't found a way to get these objects back into the database yet.

Hi,

Your drawing is not recognised as a Plant drawing, it contains no Plant data - just geometry.

Have you done a SaveAs to save the drawing?  If so, it is not saved as a Plant drawing, it's a vanilla AutoCAD drawing containing Plant geometry and no data.

You'll need to post the actual drawing from your project for us to look at.  If this is it, I'm afraid the data is lost.

Regards,

Andy

Dear Sir;

I have no data also in Data Manager I do not know how and why, attached the drawing from the project folder itself.

Is this mean I have to draw all the drawing again? also how to prevent that in the future I mean the program just (not responding) is this reason to lose all my data.

Best regards;

Ahmed

Hi,

It looks like the Plant data has been lost from the drawing, somehow - there is no way to recover it.  If your project is using the SQlite database and is stored on a file server it is possible that the data was lost or corrupted when your system froze.

I assume that you terminated Plant 3D or rebooted your workstation after it froze.

Did you try to recover the drawing using the AutoCAD Recovery Manager?  If so, this could possibly have made the situation worse as drawing recovery does not recover Plant data - it can only recover geometry.  The way to mitigate this in the future is to use AutoSave and restore the last autosaved file after a crash.

Regards,

Andy

It happens to us now and then as well.

Things to try:

Remove the drawing from the project, right click in the project manager and remove.  Then import the drawing back in from the project recycling bin.  This might fix it.

If that doesn't work, remove the drawing from the project.  Create a new blank drawing in the project manager with the same exact name.  Copy your original drawing over the new one, then open the drawing, it should prompt you that there's piping data that doesn't match the project and if you'd like to update the project to match, you do.

Dear George;

I already repeated the drawing but I will keep this idea if I faced this again.

if in the original situation (before repeating the drawing) there was no any data in the data manager could your idea let this data get back when re-importing the drawing in the new one created.

thanks for your interest.

Ahmed
