Paper Space Text Will Only Print in Grey No Matter the Settings

Good evening,

There has been this issue with random drawings where the paperspace text will only print in grey.

It shows up fine on my screen; I am using .ctb plot style and have tried various plot style table settings including using the editor and changing all of my colors to black in there.

I have tried turning off plot settings and turning off viewport overrides.

The only thing I have found to work is overriding my viewport color to black then setting the layer color to by layer.

Now I want to have a background mask on my text but can not get the background color to be white.

Some drawings are fine and others are grey for some reason - I have compared all of the settings I can think of and they are all the same..

Even when I copy a layer that prints as black in another drawing to one of my corrupted drawings it still prints grey, so I can't match the properties.

It seems to happen for no rhyme or reason.. But it would be nice to solve this issue because there are a lot of different projects that have this same thing happening.

Attached is an example of what's happening.

Thanks everybody!

This sounds more like an issue with plot styles. Have you tried a different plot style?

Hi Ken,

Yes, I've tried selecting every .ctb plot style and they all have the same result.

Even monochrome prints the same exact grey color.

It all varies, too. Some new projects print fine while others are grey.

I can not seem to figure out what the common factor is.

Thanks for the input.

Please let me know if there is anything else I could attach that would help solve the issue.

Does the print preview or print to PDF show the grey objects in color?  If so, that sounds like they are set as TrueColor which will always plot in color (or grey on a BW printer).

Nah, print preview shows the objects exactly as they print - in grey.

It is only on my screen that they appear in color.

And it might be helpful to know since my attachment doesn't show it - the model in my viewport prints in color it is only the annotations, title block, etc. in paperspace that shows up in grey.

This happened so randomly and could potentially be a solution - it has worked fine today and yesterday but only after I have done these things:

I had opened two files of plant 3-D.

I was solely working in one project - one file had the grey text drawing open and the other file was a black text drawing.

I opened grey text first and checked my print preview -it was still grey :(.

PDF'd an ortho (those have always worked fine b&w)

Then opened the other ACAD file and drawing.

Checked my print preview again in the grey text dwg and whallah! B&W text!

It could be something to do with PDFing an ortho first then PDFing a 3-D drawing?

I haven't tested it, but if anyone else is having this stupid glitch I hope this helps!!
