P3D and Vault

couple issues for me.

1)  You have 'Project XYZ' being used by 'User A'  They have 20 files checked out.  Something happens to their computer, doesn't matter what, but the project gets wiped - with the 20 files checked out.

They download 'Project XYZ' again, but the 20 files are checked out by 'User A' and unable to be checked out ever again by anyone, including 'User A'

Is there anyway to fix this?

2) Just happened.  I tried to check in a 21 files - ortho template files - into vault.  It didn't work - had an error.. now the files all exist in the project, but they are not in the project.. even checked with Vault Workgroups - not there.. so I had to basically rename all the files to copy them in and check them into vault.

Any suggestions?  or just a fluke of the software.

()2 i think is just bad luck only happened once.. but (1) is a big issue.  It happens, IS there any way to fix it?  Using Vault Workgroups to delete the offending file destroys the project...

What version of vault do you have? In vault pro with the client you can reset the checkout.

What do you mean by ortho templates? Were they project drawings or just drawing templates?

This is somewhat of a known issue. You have to restore a file with the save name and then remove it from the project before deleting it.

Using Autodesk Vault Workgroup 2016.  I watched an AU video with Jarrod Mudford on scripting - so I made one to create the file structure for our projects - since they are all aquaculture systems - the file structure can be standardized.  I made ortho drawings ( from a template ) and was copying them into the project.

Undo checkout was blanked out.

Try selecting the files, then going to the file drop down, and "File Control" and try remove reservations.
