P&ID Motor Symbol connect directly to Equipment

Hi, I have the situation where we are required in a P&ID to connect a Motor/Electric Drive to a piece of equipment. At the same time, we need the equipment tag acquisitioned to the Drive's custom property: Connected To. (See attached Image).

Through testing:

I have only been able to achieve this by using a line between the equipment and drive, i.e. Instrument: "Leader".

I believe this is the case due to the drive symbol does not recognize either the equipment or flange post placement, though you pick the flange node or equipment during placement.

Preferred outcome:

We prefer the motor symbol is directly connected to the equipment and acquisitions the equipment tag value to the drive's custom property: "Connected To"

Can someone help automate the metadata acquisition.

@KenFoysterWSP ,

Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D P&ID development prefers that components are only connected to one SLine so that the attribute flow works.

As @h_eger said, you want the SLine connection, not only because that's how Plant 3D works, but also because it will carry your information for you and give you the database connection. When fidgeting you can get it to align quite close to the tank without the bend. To setup the Connected_To property you only need one acquisition property, by taking the from property from the connected pipe line segment. (this means you always draw the sline from the tank to the motor) With multiple acquisition properties and a calculated property you could probably get it to work in two directions but that might be waaaay more complicated.

To clean up the SLine you can create a line segment type without flow arrow, or delete your flow arrow manually. If you want to use different types of nozzles but remove it for the motor connection you can use the substitution grip to replace your nozzle by an assumed nozzle style.
