how to export piping MTO for specified lines in one file ??

hi guys,

does anyone know how to extract the whole piping MTO for just some specified lines in one excel file ??

I already tried using the Report Creator but it only helps when I want to get the whole area MTO, and merging and calculating the all speretaed MTOs extracted during producing the isos is very annoying !!

does anyone have a smart solution ??

Have you tried using the data manager in the piping model (Order by Area) and exporting to excel for each line you require?

I can already export the MTO of each line through the advanced iso creation option

what I want is to export one MTO file for a bulk of lines

Have you tried coping the lines you want an MTO for to a seperate drawing and then using the report creator to run a BOM of just that drawing?  Once done you can delete it or whatever.  If you want a more permanent solution, I suggest grouping the items you want to BOM together on one drawing file.  This requires some planning/moving stuff around but I think it works very well for what you are trying to do.

Using the Report Creator you can filter by line number(s).

I ran into the same problem. In report creator you can only select everything or by model, but not by line number (in the interface).

I came up with the following solution and it works perfectly. It would be nice though if Autodesk would implement this in the report creator (even Autoplant can do this!).

1. Add a property tot P3D line group class named 'MTO Output" or something similar. This should be a boolean
2. Add the same property tot Piping and equipment - Fasteners and Pipe Run Component class. Set this to 'Aquisition' and link it to the property in the P3D line group class
3. Now, in P3D you go to the data manager, set it to order by area, select 'Pipe lines' and there you'll find the MTO Output field. When you select it, this will be propagated to every component in that line
4. In your report, edit the query to filter on this property.

You have to edit the query by adding a filter to the 'LineNumberTag'. See attached screenshots.

I use the Autocad Plant 3D 2017.

The filter in the report is about the same, apart from the Fasteners item.

I assume you mean things like pipe shoes and not Plant3D Structure?
