I'm (still) working on a flanged pipe setup for PTFE lined pipe. I have not found a great method for creating lined pipe with no gaskets. My latest attempt was creating a custom block using the lined pipe flange symbol and calling it through the PIFX skey in combination with the fixed-pipe type. The iso still generates using fixedpipeflange symbol and ignores my skey entry and block (see image). Why is that?
I could modify the fixedpipeflange symbol, but that seems like a bandaid that could be problematic down the road.
Where does the fixed-pipe type get direction from in terms of block assignment? Where are the types at in the first place?
I also have the issue that everyone else has where I need a variable length flanged end pipe that doesn't convert to a single long spool but adds flanges as required. Fixed length piping doesn't really solve the issue since it's variable. At a previous employer I used a .0001 thickness spacer with an skey of GASK which showed as existing when placed to avoid populating the bill of material. It wasn't clean as it showed an un-dimensioned gap between face to face for the flanges, but it worked in a pinch. I need something better for future use.
