Fasteners Custom Property and Block Not Recognizing Data

I will try and explain my issue as clearly as possible without getting too long.
First off I'm using Plant 3D 2022 (I have also tried in 2025 but with no luck).

I created a custom property in the Fastener class settings with String property type (see attached Screenshot 1).
I also copied an existing Ortho Annotation Block, renamed it and assigned the format to link to my custom class property. (see blow).

In my model, when I select the P3d Connector I can see my newly added Custom Property, and I can add in my string of text. (see attached Screenshot 3).
Side note: I can also see the custom property with my string of text if I isolate by holding down CTRL and selecting the bolt and gasket individually.

When I create my ortho drawing I have to click into the model space of the VP and then I can select the 2d gasket lines by windowing both of them together and I then have the ability to see the P3dConnector Ortho Annotate options which show my custom property block ortho annotation. (see attached Screenshot 4).
But, unfortunately, the data is not pulled into the block. (see below).

What am I missing?
Has anyone ever tried doing this with success?
Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

Can't really help much other than note that fasteners are created as P3dConnector class objects in the ortho so do not inherit any properties from the Piping and Equipment class or subclasses.

Your custom properties will appear in the BOM if that's of any help.

Andy

Thanks for the reply.
If you look at my Screenshot 1, I added the custom property to the Fasteners Class settings (not Piping and Equipment).
That's why I'm confused as to why the ortho annotation block is not bringing in the data associated with the property.

Hi,

Fasteners is a subclass of Piping and Equipment and inherits all of the properties of the Piping and Equipment class.  The block in the ortho is linked to the P3dConnector class - it does not inherit any of the properties of Piping and Equipment (parent class) or Fasteners (a subclass of Piping and Equipment) which is why the annotation will always be empty.

You will find that the blocks for Pipe Run Components link to their corresponding class in the hierarchy and have all properties available for annotations.
