When creating new components in the catalog you can use existing component scripts that resemble what you are trying to represent. Follow these steps to create an expansion joint.
1. Open Spec Editor
2. Select the Catalog Editor tab
3. Open the catalog you want to add the expansion joints to
4. Pick the Create New Component button
5. When the Create Component dialog open change the following settings
NOTE: The Primary End Type will be changed later leave it at BV for now
6. Pick the Create to add the new component to the catalog.
7. Now fill out the remaining data to complete the entry.
NOTE: All Size Parameters on newly created components are filled out as metric by default. Modiify the values as needed per your standard.
Make sure to select the Save to Catalog button to save your edits.
In the Properties Section under General, what should be written in the box "Content Iso Symbol Definition" for a Flanged Expansion Joint?
Would the SKey be EXFL?
Hi Ken;
In the Properties Section under General, what should be written in the box "Content Iso Symbol Definition" for a Flanged Expansion Joint? Would the SKey be EXFL?
Dear Ken,
I have some things wrong when i try to create new Catalog. The error showing on the Long Description should be filled correct.
Can you show me how to fill Long Description correctly ?
Thank in advance.
Don't know if this topic is closed or not, But I have an issue with a bellow!
in "content iso symbol defintion" I tried with "SKEY=EXFL", "SKEY=EXFL,TYPE=ExpansionBellows"
I tried to turn it around first "TYPE" and then "SKEY" but none of my efforts seem to work! I'm working with Plant3D 2019.
Hi @Anonymous,
It is the TYPE setting that is causing the issue.
Try using the following:
SKEY=EXFL,TYPE=COUPLING
Thanks,
Dan
HELLO,
I don't find the "CPJB_F_F" in my catalog editor.
It's normal?
I have the 2020 version.
thanks
hi @felipe.lambert,
In your Catalog editor, please select the 'Create New Component', and then choose 'Coupling' under 'Piping Component'. Don't touch anything else, yet. Now you could see the script CPJB_F_F as fourth item in the Graphics pane. After selecting the script, you can edit the Short description, unit and sizes. You can change the Endtypes later in catalog editor window.
Thanks
Vasu
