Hello,

I would like to know if there's a way to create different Dummy Leg isometric symbol.

By default, dummy leg always insert the same isometric block, I tried to assign a different block and SKEY but it do not works.

Is it harded-coded ?

Thank you !

Hello @cgirard5YVVJ !

Both the files IsoSymbolStyles.dwg &  IsoSkeyAcadBlockMap.xml can be find under Isometric folder of Project.

(i) Try to add new block to IsoSymbolStyles.dwg file located under project folder for different type of dummy leg support symbol. .

(ii) And map the created new block to Map with SkeyMap. To define SkeyMap, use IsoSkeyAcadBlockMap.xml And create new SkeyMap for the new block created for different type of dummy leg support symbol.

Note : AcadBlock to SkeyMap should match with the name define under IsoSymbolStyles.dwg.

(iii) Now, user can define the Skey which is defined under SkeyMap to Piping model by right click on component and go to properties.

For reference see screenshot of  IsoSymbolStyles.dwg  & IsoSkeyAcadBlockMap.xml

Hi Vijay,

Thank for you reply

It does not works on my side, even if I assign a new block, SKEY and adjust the "Content Iso Symbol Definition" it doesn't matter, the system always show the same default symbol, "Support-Leg1" block

Best Regards

Carol

I have run into the same problem that Carol has. I have created a new entry in the IsoSymbolStyles.dwg and added it to the IsoSkeyAcadBlockMap.xml...no matter what I change the Skey to it defaults to Leg-1. Anybody resolve this one?

Bump! Trying to change the default iso symbol for a dummy leg that I have attached a lifting lug to and modifying the skey does not change it from using the DUCK skey even though this skey is not listed in the properties. Tried changing to SKEY=HANG and many other values but the symbol never changes? This is in P3D 2026.1. Looking for a solution that does not involve editing XML? The symbol desired is in the IsoSymbolStyles.dwg (Support-Hanger1 but I really want Support-Hanger2). Trying to follow the De-Mystifying P3D Isometrics linked in the help files but still mystified...going to try using other style supports as my base to attach next. Will update later!

Success using a modified bolted beam hanger but getting it to attach to the elbow while remaining vertical was not easy. This hanger had the same SKEY=HANG I tried for the dummy leg version but did not function with it. Not many options for elbow supports which I imagine is the problem with the iso. I could not get the hanger on center and vertical off the centerline as the dummy lug does. My workaround is probably going to be dummyleg-iso-swap after the iso generates...not ideal but it giterdone.
