Connecting flanges with different pressure class and different faces EN1092-1

Hi to all,

Hallo alle zusammen,

I have a few question regarding to flange connection with different pressure rates.

On currently project we used flanges according to European norm 1092-1 and lots of flanges with different pressure rate are connectable.

So this is the table from standard:

slika0101.png

And i have this situation :

DN15-DN40 is PN40 in one pipe class  or PN10 in second pipe class  or PN16 in third pipe class

DN50-DN150 is PN16 in one pipe class or PN10 in second pipe class

DN150 is PN10

according to above table we have this situation

DN15-DN40 for pressures PN10/PN16/PN40 are the same

DN50 to DN150 PN/PN16 are the same

So i read few articles like :

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-plant-3d/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...

and I try to do this but at the end of the day  isn’t a good solution…

example :

first problem:

If I have a valve DN40 PN40 in catalog I need to have one valve but this valve I need to use in pipe class with PN10/PN16 it means that I need to have 3 valve instead of one valve…

So its not a problem if I have 10 valve but if I have 50-100 valve you need maintenance 150-300 valve…

After 80 valve i didn't know what i was doing…

Second problem:

if i have a transition between two pipe classes on flange

lets example DN50 P16 on DN50 PN10

or even worse DN25 PN40 on all pressre rates PN16,PN10...

So i continue to investigate is it possible to solve this problem

And i try to add for every diameter this allowances :

slika0303.png

And its seems to work but only simple joint

Automatic flange ( compound joint) didn't work because we have also in this settings compare for pressure and faces but there is no additional option on which diameter and pressure rates..

So I continue to research and i read few more articles :

https://in-the-pipes.typepad.com/in_the_pipes/2016/04/modifying-autocad-plant-3d-to-allow-connection...

https://in-the-pipes.typepad.com/in_the_pipes/2017/08/modifying-autocad-plant-3d-to-allow-connection...

but only different faces problem i was successfully solve..

Does anyone solve this , is it possible to solve this on better way (through xml file) – i was add 50 new flanges connection and Its difficult to track xml file and i feel like iam doing something wrong...

Thanks

Hi to all again,

I continued to work on this topic and here’s what I found. Its seams that I can simple joint connection simplify and instead to have 50 new connections we will have few new connections..

So everywhere I have flange connections I will keep original and add two new one

So I will first modify:

Flanged Joint:

(Facing B1/A)

01.png

And then I will add two more flange connection

Flanged Joint DN15-DN40

02.png

and set nominal diameter / facing and pressure rate

03.png

04.png

05.png

Flanged Joint DN50-DN150

06.png

07.png08.png09.png

And repeat this for LUG joint /Wafer Joint

all.JPG

And it seems to work for flanged joint but it’s stuck with wafer joint

I noticed that when I have:

Example

valve DN25 PN 40 and flanges and Gasket PN 40 and bolt set PN40

So every part have the same pressure class and facing plant put one bolt set on wafer connection and its ok

10.png

But if I put valve PN16 bolts missing

11.png

So my conclusion is that plant do some match independent from settings in simple joint…

And also problem with auto flange stay and need to be investigate..

Does anyone in Europe who work in plant 3d work with European flange system and if work is it possible to share what is the best way to integrate European flange system in Plant 3d?

Maybe someone from @Anonymous want to share what is the recommendation what to do in this condition

(of course if autodesk target europe as market to sale plant 3d).

Is it a proper way to do:

- in pipe class/catalog in a way to duplicate a bunch of components- false components (so if you have a 50 valve we will duplicate to 200 valves for pressure PN10,PN16,PN25,PN40)

-or some modification in xml

Thanks
