Can't uncheck remove from spec after checking remove from spec

The title pretty much covers it, but I've removed some valves from my spec to force an operator change to update

(see https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Catalog-updates-ar....)

For some reason I can't uncheck remove from spec. Once I hit apply/ok it just reverts to being checked. I've tried multiple copies of the spec, and some other stuff like omitting one or two of the changed sizes from my remove from spec workaround.

Ok, I'm replying to my own post per the usual.. This makes no sense to me but I noticed the above behavior was isolated to a single spec out of three others I tested in a similar fashion. Recalling issues in the past with applying custom .lds to specs and having those specs refuse to update, I thought I would check to see if this was the same issue. The layout and settings revealed no custom .lds in place, but I hit apply anyway to confirm no custom .lds was applied.

After doing that, the inability to uncheck remove from spec resolved, and I was able to push the valve operator changes to my valves. This "stuff", including the errors was on the heels of a completely fresh install of P3D 2025.1.1 so the only unique steps taken were the ones mentioned above. Hopefully this will help someone if they encounter a similar issue, and if anyone can shed light on why that happens that would be great. Until then.. P3D strikes again.

@Michiel.Valcke do you know if valve operators should or shouldn't force a geometry update? I got through the above issues, modified my operators and pushed a spec update in the model. I got the spec content update prompt, i.e. annotations, descriptions etc, but the only thing I got geometry changes for was a broken check valve of mine that is on an infinite update loop (another story entirely). No hand lever changes were pushed as anticipated. I was able to sub the part one by one, or cycle the spec for multiple, but that's a bit more cumbersome than I'd hoped for. Am I missing something?

@PADAGAX actuators are pulled directly from the catalog, their actual size is determined in the property palette of the valves. So it seems logical that catalog changes to the actuators are not overwriting actuators in the project.

This worked for me. Also on 2025.1.1 and after struggling to undo the "Remove from Spec" for several sizes in a spec, I finally ran across this post. Going into "Layout and Settings" in the spec and clicking "Apply" again (even though no custom styles are used) did it! THANK YOU
