bursting disc splitting iso and not displaying

I have created a bursting disc, and the iso symbol for it, and inserted it into my line.

When I create the ISO, its splits the iso at the bursting disc, doesn't display the bursting disc on either drawing, just shows that it connects to it.

How do I get it to not split at the bursting disc and to display it on the drawing?

I've turned off split iso automatically.

We create bursting discs as orifice plates and they work OK. Did you make it as an equipment item?

I've created it as an orifice plate in the catalogue, also tried creating it in the piping model and converting it to equipment, both have the same result.

Hi @Anonymous,

Have you assigned the bursting disc an SKEY and TYPE and added that to the IsoSkeyAcadBlockMap.xml?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

yes, I created the symbol in the isosymbolstyles then added the following line to the isoskeyacadblockmap -

  <SkeyMap SKEY = "BDISC" AcadBlock ="BurstingDisc"/>

Hi @Dan.Scales

TYPE=BurstingDisc,SKEY=BDISC

This is what I assigned it in the catalogue.

Hi @Anonymous,

Try setting it to MISC-COMPONENT instead of BurstingDisc.

This whitepaper might be useful as it goes into more detail on the "types" that can be used:

Hi @Dan.Scales

I think I spoke too soon.

The symbol is displaying in the ISO, but it seems like the clamps either side of it aren't connecting to it properly.

Here is a picture of the symbol -

Here is how it displays in the ISO, with the clamps either side -

Any ideas?

Hi @Anonymous,

A clamp symbol is being placed over each port of the bursting disk and looks to working correctly (or normally anyway).

If you upload a screen shot showing how you want it to look I will take a look and see what can be done.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi @Dan.Scales

It's all working how it should, it just looks a bit congested, with symbols overlapping etc.

I'm wanting it a bit more spaced out so its clearer to read -

Hi @Anonymous,

Try moving the ports in you bursting disc symbol further out from each other.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi @Dan.Scales

I've done that, it doesn't have an effect.

Hi @Anonymous,

Try something ike this:

isosymbol.png

I also moved the clamp symbols wider apart to accommodate the bursting disc symbol ant this is the result I got:

Iso-disc.png

Thanks,

Dan

Hi @Dan.Scales

That's what I did with my iso symbol, I moved the ports further out from the symbol, but it doesn't have an effect on the ISO.
