Another user is updating the project

Hello,

We are receiving the error message in the subject line. I have had this before when the .lck files weren't deleted and couldn't continue till they were deleted. But this time the message appears randomly for users, program crashes, open it back up and it's fine for a bit.

Any clues?

Update.

This problem is happening on multiple project. Even one that only has one user accessing it.

We had some server changes made over the weekend. The server was renamed. I would think this would make the whole project unusable not just occasionally cause a problem.

This seems to happen when one of the following occurs. Save, AutoSave or Auto Spec Update Check

Sadly there is no universal fix for "random": is the problem limited to some users but not everyone?
Remote users or is everyone local/in the office?

Your Server renaming may be the one and only reason for it here: the old-server name is being sought or the users affected have server login issues?

This seems to be fixed now and it had something to do with user group policies on the IT side of things.
