DWG Unable to open

Every time I try to open autocad web I get the DWG unable to open

Welcome to the AutoCAD Web App Forum.

 

Your description sounds a bit general and I would like to understand fully the situation you are in - also to understand if the file itself might be corrupt.

 

Every time I try to open autocad web I get the DWG unable to open


Can you please clarify the following points?

  1. Do you get the message when you login to AutoCAD Web or do you get the message when you click on a dwg file after the Web App opened?
  2. If the message appears when you click on a dwg file - is this dwg file located in the file manager or is it connected with an external storage provider like OneDrive, Box, Dropbox, Google Drive?
  3. Did you save the dwg file via SAVETOWEBMOBILE from within AutoCAD Desktop or did you create the dwg file from within the AutoCAD Web Application?
  4. Does the same error appear when you create the drawing from within the AutoCAD Web Application via the button "new drawing"?
  5. Can you provide a screenshot of the message?

I wanted to check if you were able to move on working on this issue. To fully understand your situation and to provide steps that help you, further information is needed.

 

If you found a solution on your side, please share it here in the forum. It will help customers who face the same issue. Otherwise it looks like your drawing itself was corrupt, so that it also would not open by AutoCAD Desktop Application caused by general file corruption.

 

Sending this file to my in a private message would also be one way to go in order to help you.

Hi, I have the same error, when I click in the file apper the error message: DWG Unable to Open, There was an issue opening the DWG. Please try again. If the issue persists, please let us know in the AutoCad web application Forum.

I uploaded the file into AutoCad Web&Mobile -- Home -- New folder

Hello. I cleared my cookies and cache and now I am unable to access my drawings. I had one open and when I tried to refresh the page, I got this message (see attached photo). 
I did not have the dwg files saved directly to my device, as they were created in the web app. I don't remember the email account I used to create my account and none of the ones I normally use are showing as registered. Was there an option to login using your Google or Facebook?

Sorry, without your actual email credentials needed for that account you cannot access files/content stored in that account. Keep trying.

Hello

Thank you for responding.

Was there an option to login using my Google or Facebook? The initials showing indicate that is the account I used, however, the email showed as not registered.
