Hello! That would be awesome to allow direct handwriting on a tablet using a pencil. I'm not talking about a vectorial drawing (polyline, spline) but a simple note related to an icon placed on the drawing. Example: - The user enables the "Handwriting"mode. - Touch the position on the drawing where we want to place the note. - A notepad window appears, allowing free drawing. - The notepad is saved and closed. - While the "Handwriting Mode" is active, the notes icons and their place in drawing is show. - Disabling the "Handwriting Mode", the notes are hidden till we activate it again. That could be used for sketchs too.

When using the AutoCAD Mobile app I often use the dimension and text tool for 2D plans. If I zoom far in to take a small dimension, the actual text size will shrink. If i zoom out to take a larger dimension, the text size will grow. Although not the end of the world I end up with all different sizes of text and dimension texts across my drawing making it look very messy. Can we not alter the text size to what we want? Rather than it depending on how zoomed in I am?

The issue with the property feature is that it is accessible only from the side menu. My suggestion is to move the property feature to the bottom sub-menu (changing features) in order to be able to work faster. The feature works when an object is chosen and triggers the side menu to open up. We can choose from a long list of data only the change of color and layer. (That is for now at least). The change color already appears in the sub-menu, that leaves the change layer and property feature itself to be moved. The side menu covers more then 35% of the working space, making it difficult to chose the next item if it happens to be covered with the oversized side menu. Thank you, dbac

The model space color and paper space color settings can be changed globally in Autocad mobile settings. It would be helpful to have those settings inside the drawing settings so the background color can be changed individually in every drawing. The reason, (for the users that only use the Autocad Mobile version without computer backup) providing the ability to change the model into a paper space like version (drawing). It is not possible yet to copy / paste the model into the available layout1, layout2 paper spaces, so this might be a temporary solution. It also would be nice to be able to change the names of the layouts, right? Thank you, dbac.

Some of the Issues I have come across can be avoided by removing the current automatic save feature and add the regular save feature. When you are connected to a power source, having the possibility of a power cut it makes sense to have a automatic save feature. But we are referring to Autocad Mobile and power cuts on a mobile platform is rare if not non existent. The idea to be able to close the drawing and open it up again on the last saved point appeals to me since I found this issue with the zoom extent feature. This has forced me to make copies of my drawing as I go along. Not convenient. Leave it to the user to decide when to save their work! Thank you, dbac.

Not sure if there is already a way in AutoCAD to set something that may serve like a back up definition of an object. If you could set a backup point for a certain object it could serve as an option for people who sometimes would like to see what a previous version of an object position in the UCS,or previous set of properties for the object would look like now,without having to go back to some file they saved some time ago,since when a lot of changes have been made. You could create a back up version 1,or version 2 of a certain line,polyline or whatever. Maybe converting an object to a block is what I am actually talking about. 😄

In order to check that viewports are pointing to the correct location of the Model Space, this idea would allow a display switch to be turned on that shows the outline of all the viewports within Model Space. The display could also show text to let you know what Paperspace the viewport is contained within.

The communicating power of a drawing is maximized when combined with text strategically placed text. I like how the text has the integral option to have a mask of any color. I do wish there was a way to choose transparent text mask. If this was possible, you could see a hint at what's behind the text which would set the text apart while not totally overriding and blanking out the drawing. This would be an immensely useful tool if it existed.

1st - why there is no dedicated Idea heading for the core Autocad release? 2nd - As discussed on many many forums please put back the 2015 start tab (Again - in the Autocad core???) - we dont want it open and visible all the time - it should close when we open a drawing. It is just bothersome when you switch fast between open drawings with CTRL+TAB all the time to have to go through this start tab. I was hoping Autodesk would listen to users and fix it for 2018 but that is not the case

The ability to change the color of a field background would be very helpful. On/Off is just not enough.

Just below the Layout tabs (or above) show the list of customs views the user has saved within the dwg. So the user could easily jump from view to view with one click. So view one takes you to your details, while view 2 takes you to your plan view, etc. Bill Neuhauser P.E. Managed Design

Overlay tool would allow two separate drawings or parts of a drawing to be overlaid on top of one another. The tool would then be set to highlight differences and or similarities between the two drawings, whichever the user needs to be identified.

Please consider to keep extra/extended settings of the Find and Replace dialog box open, just like they do in the Plot dialog box. For example: When using the arrow dropdown in the Find and Replace box to use more settings, this will retract back to hidden when the Find/Replace is opened again. Would it be possible to let it keep the last used open/close extended/hidden setting? The Plot dialog box extended options stay open, why does this box act differently? I think it would be more convenient for most users and not inconvenience many other users. For someone doing a repeat task (but needing to change the settings each time) this would be very valuable. The settings themselves stay for the next use, so it would be nice if we had the choice to show/hide the settings for the next use too. Thankyou

The possibility to add blocks into a drawing from local drive and/or BIM360 into a drawing. Now we see only the blocks in the drawing and we cannot add other blocks or drawings into the blocklist.

My idea is to make the LAYTRANS window non-modal. I often use this function to translate the layers in a file received from an architect into my company's standard layers. Sometimes the list of layers I receive are super generic (layer names like "1" or "A-GENM") and even with the "show layer contents when selected" setting checked, I still can't determine what is actually on that layer (is it a window, a door, etc.). It would be nice to be able to go over to the drawing, zoom in or out, and verify what is on that layer, then step back to the LAYTRANS window. As it stands, I have to stop, save my mappings, close the window, go back to the drawing to see what layer "1" actually is, re-open the LAYTRANS window, load my mappings, continue where I previously left off and cross my fingers that there aren't any other layers I can't figure out.
