Live monitoring of PLINE length, or setting a max length?

I'm drawing loops for radiant underfloor heating, and the issue I'm coming across is that I have max loop lengths, and have no easy way of keeping track of how long my pline so I know when I have to return to the manifold to respect maximum loop lengths.

What I would be looking for is either a way for it to display the current accumulated length of the current pline being drawn, or a way to set what I want the max length to be, and once it is reached the line stops drawing.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi @nissAY7D6,

Thank you for posting your question here in the community. One way of accomplishing this is to add the Polyline Length property to the rollover tooltips if you use them (or Quick Properties, although this isn't quite as seamless as the tooltips). Although, to get the "live" aspect you're looking for, you'd likely need some kind of customization, which you might consider posting for over in this forum.

You can make the modification as follows:

  • Enter the CUI command.
  • Select Rollover Tooltips.
  • Select Polyline from the list.
  • Check the box for Length.
  • Apply and close.
