Evening All
Serioulsy hope someone on here can help with this as it's doing my box in!
I've started tinkering with Electrical Devices in MEP as a way of enhancing what I've already been doing with Multi-view blocks. Essentially, I'm using a 2D block (plan view symbol) and a 3D model inside an electrical device, so that in plan view it looks as the client's symbol, but in Navis in appears as it's real-life 3D counterpart.
On the whole this works really well, BUT, for some stupid reason whenever I have to set the 'Annotation Plot Scale' to 25.4 if I want the 2D block to be at the correct scale. For instance, the actual 2D CAD block is 5mm wide when inserted at 1:1, yet when it's added to the device it is scaled DOWN by a factor of 25.4.
I've searched, tweaked and fiddled for ages now and this is driving me nuts! I can't reference anywhere in my CAD settings to anything at all being set to imperial units (25.4 being 1inch in mm of course). And I can't underside why I have to set the Annotation Plot Scale to 25.4 in order to get it looking correct in mm on the screen.
Sample file attached.
Any and all input is most welcome!
Thanks very much
Graham
This is how it's supposed to work, but standards are getting in the way. You might have double scale corrections being applied in the background.
Check your user Options > User Profiles... it might be set to imperial or metric, but the problem may be that your base symbol (or the tag symbol) was built from the other catalog.
My advice is to set to your desired metric output and rebuild the part from scratch. Good luck!
