Creating a BoM Table Sorted by Layer

Hello all!

I draw electrical systems and I am trying to create a BoM Table sorted by conduit ID (I'm using AutoCAD MEP 2017). Is it possible to sort the bomtables command by layer name? or at least, is it possible to create a table that includes the layer names?

currently the "name" column lists the generic part name (ex: "1.00 inch conduit"). See image

Hi

From the Stylemanager, you can add Layer property set and use this property in the schedule table.  Please see attached screen cast video for the detailed steps.  Hope this helps.

I think I followed instructions accurately, but my table is being filled by question marks... do you know what I could have been doing wrong?

It appears the property set data are not enabled or set.  Select the Conduit(for multiple objects, click select similar), from the property palette>>Extended data tab>>Click the button on the bottom left hand corner to enable other properties for the objects.

To speed up the process, you may enable this setting by default from Options>>AEC Object Settings>>"Automatically Attach" under AEC property set definitions.

Update the Schedule table to reflect the changes.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks,

Hi all.

Working a Gas generator heat recovery project. I pulled my ducts from the exhaust of the generators (6 of them) into a heat recovery boiler which I modelled as a MV_Part. When i populated my schedule, the Description is empty.
