Conversion of a Mesh object into a 3D Solid

Hello everyone,

I'm actually having a problem converting this one custom pressure maintaining system into a 3D a solid, that is to be used in AutoCAD MEP. The original file is an .stp (Step file). The Object iteslf is quite elaborate and I didn't want to use the overly simplified shapes in the block editor. (I'm designing a project, where I honestly don't have time for that at all, because of deadlines).

- Objective: Creating an MV-Block out of it. I already tried doing that, but many views aren't shown properly, assumedly because it is a Mesh Object and not a 3D solid.

I tried importing the file in AutoCAD and creating a 3D Body (or a surface) out of it but it does not want to be converted no matter what I do. The last step I took was exploding it many times, creating solids out of the small pices and unting them back together.

My problem right now, is that after exploding the 3D drawing, some Objects couldn't be put together because they're open curves now.

Is there an easier way to do it please? I'm grateful for any piece of help that I get.

Thank you

multi-view blocks are not in vanilla AutoCAD: so you are in the wrong forum basically. Let's get you moved to MEP forum where that is an option.

Otherwise... show your work: post CAD files so others can help.

Indeed they are not there, but the task at hand is in it. I am currently trying to create a solid body out of a complex 3D drawing that entails Blockreferences, surfaces (pipes),  ..etc. So the expertise I'm in dire need of is related to Vanilla AutoCAD, methinks.

Here is the STP file.

Thank you for the reply.

not sure if it helps but try using MASSELEMENTCONVERT command  first  and then CONVERTTO3DSOLIDS command.

Hey there andkal. Thank you for the reply ..

I tried converting it into a mass element just like you said but I'm getting the following error: No graphic information found (Keine Grafikinformation gefunden!)

Do you perhaps have any idea what that means in my case?

Thanks again

could you post your drawing? It can an empty drawing with one object that you cannot convert.

actually, as you notticed in your first post, a few parts are opened surfaces. They cannot by converted to masselement. If you dont reallyt need them you could just delete them and all other you can convert to masselements. It is very extremally complex object. It will certainly affect autocads performance. Maybe consider drawing some cylinder prepresenting this expansion vessel (or Variomat) if you dont need that level of detail.

Indeed, it is hugely slowing down the performance of AutoCAD. You can tell from its size (30Mb).
Until now I imported it and inserted it as a Block object in my drawing (that way even those surfaces are correctly drawn).

I'm hiding the block whenever I need to get down to business and only allow it to show up when I want to really see how my plant would look like. So from what I understand, there is no roundabout way to do this.

Thank you very much for your healp.
