AutoCAD MEP 2019 Ducts routing

Hello ,

We just migrated to MEP 2019 from MEP 2013 and were struggling to change the default connection to a take off instead of a Tee joint while joining two ducts. Tried doing various things out there but couldn't figure it out. If anyone has a solid step by step way to change the preference from the Tee joint to the takeoff in MEP 2019 please do let me know!

I don't think that it has changed in the last couple of years but it has definitely changed since 2013.  Anyway, when running the duct command, look on the property palette.  In the routing options section, there will be a Branch Fitting line.  Change that from Tee to Takeoff and you should be good to go.

The other option is to start the ductfitting command and choose the tap and then select the duct piece that you would like to add the fitting to.

Thank you so much!! that definitely helps! And this changes the default setting for all further ducts right?

For the most part it should remember it.  Like all things however it can occasionally forget its setting and reset to the default which is Tee.  AutoCAD MEP is like any other piece of software and has occasional ghosts in the machine.
