I cant seem to get my visual styles to 3d while piping. No matter what my visual style settings are. All my piping is 2d. Is this common? Could somebody link me the difference between the student version and full version. The only one i am familar with at the moment is that if i plot a drawing it will have a border around the print.(I am not looking to use the software for any commercial purposes)

Down on the bottom right you will see the words cut plane. To the left of that is the display representation. It may be set to MEP Design. Try and change that to one of the other display Reps like Mechanical-pipe by size or Mechanical. Does that change anything?

I don't have a visual styles of "3D", I do have realistic and others. While in plan view they normally show 2-line for conduit, duct and pipe depending on what display rep is current.

Even though Amep is a 3D program you are almost always working in 2D. When you are in any of the ten standard Views (Top ,bottom, sides  or isometric) all the objects take on their 2D representations. The only time they take on their 3D model representation is when you orbit off of the standard views. I would recommend saving the drawing before trying to orbit, it may crash depending on your computer.

Yes it will have a water mark around the boarder.

Be careful because any drawing that the student version gets x-refed into will also get permanently marked with the same water mark. That could really ruin someones day, if they unknowingly x-refed a student version into their drawing that they worked a long time on, for production use.
