issue with Weight of pole in imported SPLINE not read from IGES in Autocad mechanical 2020

hello, in Autocad Mechanical 2020  we have an issue when we import spline in IGES the weight of pole is not read in autocad whereas the weight of pole is read in CREO or NX software (see attached image)

Have any idea for solution ?

thanks in advance,

regards,

laurent.

Definition in the Inhouse tools the weight of the pole is on 0.2 :

IGES read by autocad the weight is read at 1 instead of 0.2 :

IGES read by NX the weight is read at 0.2 :

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

Thank you for posting your question. It looks like the image did not attach to the post. Can you repost it, and provide a little more information on what is meant by the weight of pole? Also what program was the file created/translated to IGES in.

A more general thought, 1 is often a default in AutoCAD for metadata it is not designed to work with. If the weight of pole is related to solid model meta data, it may translate to Creo and NX because they are solid modeling programs. While AutoCAD has 3D capabilities, they are based on wire frame rather than solid models.

You mean your IGES file defines the two splines as "polynomial" which means the weights should be ignored and this does AutoCAD.

If I define the entity 126 (B-Spline) as rational, then AutoCAD read it with the correct weights.

Also you define in the start section a maximum coordinate value of 100.00, but your spline has control points of 300.0,-50.0, 0.0 and 200.0, -150.0, 0.0

This is also "not perfect", because some CAD-Systems use this value to define the model space and calculate the model tolerances.

regards
