Is it possible to insert black outlines to color object lines when plotting? Lighter colored objects are hard to see when plotted on white paper.

Yes, it is possible.

Oh, you actually want to know how to do it? Smiley Very Happy

From the ACAD pulldown in the upper left corner, highlight the print flyout. In the flyout, you may have to hover over or click on the down arrow to see everything. Click "Manage Plot Styles".

Select "add a new plot style" , start from scratch, color dependent, and give it a name, but do not click finish. Instead click the "plot style table editor" button. I prefer the form view tab.

Now you can select individual colors or all the colors with the help of the shift and ctrl keys. Once you've selected the colors you want to plot in black, click the color pull down in the upper right and select black.

If you want to take it further, you can adjust the line weights as well with the pulldowns on the right side. when your done, click save and close, followed by finish.

When you plot use that plot style in the upper right corner of the plot dialogue box. You may also want to consider following similar steps to "Manage plotters" to set paper sizes, etc. for each of your printers. Then in the options dialogue under the plot and publish tab, check the box middle right, that says hide system printers. Mo more scrolling through a long list of paper sizes that you either don't or cant use.

The question was how to add a black outline to colored lines, not make colored lines appear black. I have the opposite problem, just a few of my grey lines have a black outline which dominates how they are displayed on my screen, they just always look black unless you zoom in enough to see the line thickness and see that the isnide is grey. its annoying and I want it gone.

To the OP,  I wish I knew, but if the color doesn't look good on a white back ground, than don't use that! As a workaround, if the text or linework is large enough that you can see the inside vs the edge, you can draw the outline in black and solid hatch the inside w/e color you need, but make sure that the plot table doesn't take that color and make it black, like per the previous reply in this thread.

The question is over 2 years old and was specifically related to plotting. To answer your question, if the color doesn't show well on your screen, then don't use that, per the previous reply...
