Horizontal construction line error

Anonymous
Not applicable

Dear community,

when I create a horizontal construction line (AMCONSTHOR), sometimes it starts creating a vertical one instead. It happens randomly and quite often. After AutoCAD Mechanical 2020 restart everything is OK again (for a certain time).

I have already observed this behavior in AutoCAD Mechanical 2018.

Is that related to a variable change?

Thanks in advance

Hi @Anonymous,

The command AMCONSTHOR is based on drawing coordinates, rather than your view of it. If you rotate your views at all, the Horizontal construction line will display at a different rotation in relation to X and Y coordinates.

Please let us know if that helped.

Hi @cheryl.buck ,

I'm sorry, I got it wrong (also a description in the title) - can you change it?. It is a problem when creating a parallel construction line with a distance (AMCONSTPAR). I think, this error behavior is related to objects where the Hidden Edges function (AMSHIDE) in AutoCAD Mechanical was used. For some objects (see pictures) it is impossible to make a parallel construction line. It is switched always to a vertical auxiliary line.
