Error - One or more referenced files could not be located or read

Hi,

I'm a new user of AutoCAD Mechanical 2019. I recently created a 3D model in Inventor 2019 from which I wanted to make a drawing out of in AutoCAD. I dragged the file in using the "Base from Inventor" function. My issue comes up whenever I close and reopen the file, where the error referenced in the tilte comes up. The drawing does not update with the changes made to the 3D model even if I close Inventor before opening the AutoCAD file. The error looks like the attached picture.  Any help would be appreciated.

@AnonymousDo you have your vault project file set correctly in Inventor?

@AnonymousYou can also use the XREF command to locate and resolve the file that is missing.

When I use the XREF command, the tree view and the list view don't show me any files other than the main drawing. Also how do I check if I have the vault project file set correctly in Inventor? When I made the model I just made the part and saved it.

@AnonymousThe image you show, click on the first option, "change active project file" and set it to the project file that your Inventor part was created with.

@AnonymousUsing the EXREF command can you browse to and attach the file that ACAD is looking for?

@Jason.Rugg I've made 5 drawings going from Inventor to AutoCAD (5 different models, 5 different drawings). One of the drawings is correctly updating with the Inventor model, but when I use the same model to create a new drawing, I get the same problem I got before. I don't think that the issue is with Inventor here

@AnonymousThe image you provided, does that error message appear in ACAD or Inventor? I assume ACAD.

@Jason.Rugg Also the working file has no external references under the tree view either.

@AnonymousCan you send me your files? I can look at them when I get back to my CAD machine.
