Erase Command does not delete all selected

I work with detailed drawing that we have edit on a dally bases. We recently got Mechanical 2016. In 2014 I could type E and then select what I wanted to delete then press space to erase and then use space to go back in the command.

The only way I have found for 2016 Erase command to do what I want in to have PICKADD=0 but for that I have to use the fence and then I can only select one item at a time. With PICKADD=1 then Erase will not delete everything selected.

Thanks

Did you import the Application Options (profile) from the previous release?

In the Start Menu > AutoCAD Mechanical 2016 use the Reset Setting to Default. Does it solve your problem?

You mentioned PickADD=0 and 1 but you missed that there is one more variable.

You need to set the variable to 2.

0 - Turns off PICKADD. The objects most recently selected become the selection set. Previously selected objects are automatically removed from the selection set.

1 - Turns on PICKADD. Each object selected, either individually or by windowing, is added to the current selection set.

2 - Turns on PICKADD. Each object selected, either individually or by windowing, is added to the current selection set.
If the SELECT command is used, keeps objects selected after the command ends.

I remember having this same problem when I first changed over to version 2016 myself.

I hope that works for you.

this is a new machine the 2014 settings were not pulled over from the old machine. I set back to default but that did not change anything.

This is just wrong. I'm currently using 2018 Mechanical and am having the same @#$%^& results when I initiate the ERASE command. I've changed PICKADD to 2, back to 1 even 0, nothing changes. I use a window crossing to select entities to erase. Selection set highlights. The command line text confirms the number selected. THEN . . . . . (ta da!)

Generally only ONE of the entities erases at first pass. I hit enter to execute the command again, repeat the window crossing selection, then maybe a few get erased. I have to repeat this up to 10 times (or more) to get items erased.

Please get this fixed ASAP.

FIXED!

So searching through all the "PICK____" system variables I decided to change "PICKSTYLE" to 1 instead of 3 which is supposed to react to selection sets like 1 or 2, 1 GROUP SELECTION, 2 ASSOCIATIVE HATCH SELECTION.

Autodesk - Please fix the PICKSTYLE / 3 system variable for others.

Weirdness! I've never had this happen to me before, but a drawing I am currently editing is experiencing the same issues; erase a bunch of entities with a windowed crossing and it only seems to select one item at a time.

PICKADD was at 2, setting it to 0 seems to have corrected it back to normal.

PICKSTYLE is at 1
