Condense/Explode Block

This kind of drawing is something my company regularly receives from a 3rd party. I've pressed my boss to ask them to find a better way to convert their 3D drawing (from whatever program they use) better so that it doesn't cause significant lag for us. However, that doesn't seem like an option.

So, my objectives are to A) Reduce the number of block definitions, preferably to 1 and B) Reduce the file size. If I manually explode the blocks in this drawing it eventually gets so huge my CAD crashes. I've noticed the file size starts getting up into the 3+GB range as well. Is there anything that can be done to make this drawing more useable? If there is an LSP out there that can help I am open to that as well. Although an in-box solution would be best.

I have purged and audited the drawing as best as I can. We really don't need a lot of the busy-ness of the objects in this drawing. For instance, every nut/bolt doesn't need to be in the drawing for our purposes.  But as I stated, this drawing comes from a 3rd party that isn't really willing to work with us on how they send it to us.

As far as making objects within the drawing XREFs, same issue as above. The rack manufacturer sends us the file this way and it would be too time consuming to delete unnecessary objects/ split parts off into XREFs.

Are you using AutoCAD MECHANICAL? then you are in the wrong forum.

If not, your file is full of that type of content, you need to ask the file sender/creator to "EXPORT TO AUTOCAD" to you first, and you folks only use those files if AECTOACAD command in your plain AutoCAD cannot convert those objects.

Your posted file could also use a lot of purging (and AUDIT):

And last but not least, unless you bundled stuff in this one file just to share here, you ought to be using XREFs for all of these instead of the all-eggs-in-one-basket method. This may help too: I did not test it with your file.

Do you all need this level of detail? There are lots of very small very busy objects when I zoom in if not. That ought to help a bit too.
