Changing a block colour in the viewport ONLY

Hello,

I am using VP Colour for a particular reason; to grey out existing technology and only show the NEW technology to be installed in colour. However a lot of the layouts were previously created and have their own blocks and dynamic blocks that retain their colour.

When I grey out all the colours in the viewport I cannot seem to grey out the blocks without going back into the model space and actually greying out the blocks by exploding them and changing the colour.

How do I change the colour of the blocks to match the grey of everything else using only the viewport settings so that the model space is unchanged?

Your block has an override inside it that need to be changed first: try to fix it with SETBYLAYER command (block sub-option) or BEDIT command.

VP column settings in LAYER command never address overrides in objects.

This changes the colour of the block on the model space. Does that mean there is no way to change it just for the viewport?

VIEWPORT overrides (including color) apply to layers only, not objects, not anything else sadly: you can change the color of the layer your blocks are in to see them differently. Having your needed blocks on a custom aka their-own-layer would be a workaround to use as well.
