Autocad 2020 Freezes with Rotate and Stretch Commands

Hi,

Like the title says, I get a 30-60 second freeze when trying to stretch a line or rotate an object in Autocad 2020.  I have already:

  • Attempted to update to AutoCAD Mechanical 2020.1.3.  The desktop app says I updated, but the About command shows conflicting information in the "Product Version" and "Built on" Lines
    • autocad2020 desktop updated.PNG
    • autocad2020 version.PNG
  • Tried turning 3dconfig on and off, no change.
  • Turned Linesmoothing and Linefading on and off.
  • Nvidia Quadro P1000 Drivers are up to date.
  • Windows 10 Drivers are controlled by IT department, but are updated regularly.

How can I stop the freezing with line stretching and object rotation?

Thanks!

Your about command screenshot shows you have the 2020.1.3 update already (last line).

Did this just start today?
Or is today the first install and use of MECH2020?
"up to date" is sometimes the wrong solution when it comes to video card drivers.

Thanks for the response!

I started having this problem last week when IT reinstalled my entire laptop for reasons related to Microsoft Office.  This is a clean install.  Since I posted this a few hours ago, I tried reinstalling Autocad 2020 and updating it again, and I'm still having the problem.

In terms of the graphics drivers, I updated them today, so they weren't the cause of the problem since it was happening last week.

I've also found the "move" command to cause freezing.  So now, it's Rotate, Move, and Stretch.  Could there be a setting somewhere that relates to all of those commands and causes freeze behavior?

Thanks for the help

It may be time to wipe your laptop clean and start over if they did not perform a factory reset on it previously.

Hello Again,

I just wanted to give an update on this issue.  My IT department did a full factory reinstall, and the problem persisted.  I went through the list you linked and it was the Factory Snap Settings issue:

So, if anyone is having this issue, please disable the setting as described above.

Thanks again for the help, I can finally work again!  (yay?)
