comparable command to MAPDIST to measure Areas

Working with UTM Coordinatesystems always brings measuring inaccuracy.

With the command MAPDIST you can measure geodesic distans betwen two point, but no areas of Polygon.

Turning polygons into GIS object helps to get nearby, but it is not the short way if you need only two or three areas..

It would be helpful to get a command to mearsure real areas based on the uses coordinatsystem projection.
