Turning Off Display Manager?

How do I get that annoying task pane not to open every time I open up Map? I went into the cui for the current workspace and set Task Pane show to 'no'....I would have thought that would have done it, but apperently its like Jason from Friday the 13th....you just cant frikkin kill it.....help Autodesk?

Map>options>Task Pane>Start Options> Uncheck Show Task Pane on Startup.

WHY?
That little annoyances can be set to hide and docked someplace out of the
way but it controls allot in map that you might not be able to get to other
ways. If you just want AutoCAD features just run vanilla.

Dont be silly, Murph....that is like saying one might want ALL of their dialog boxes open at all times just in case they might use them. And while we're at it, keep the Properties box, Desktop, Tool Pallets & Design Center up 'just in case' too....Since a couple taps on the keyboard can bring it back up, why waste the real estate?

Didn't mean to be silly, but having anchored to the left or right, it cause
it to hide and yet is easy to get to for using most of the map features. I'm
a command line keyboard person myself but with the task pane anchored you
can't beat it. (MHO) Wait until the dashboard becomes the main tool to use.
If your on 2007 type dashboard at the command line if you haven't seen it.
In a few more releases I expect that to be the top tool of use by users.
