Restore Custom Settings 2024

I reset Map to defaults and saved a zip of the custom defaults while doing that. The reset didn't help the problem I had so not I'd like to reset the customization. Everything I find online and in Autodesk help points me to the Start menu. But I don't find Reset of Import there.

While I'm using Civil 3D. I used the reset from Map 3D since it was missing from Civil 3D.

I figured it out. The ZIP file contained the folder structure. So I extracted it to put the files back where they came from.

Hi @AllenJessup,
sorry, for being to late but for the future maybe this other idea as alternative might help.

The unsupported alternative is to create user defined icons that start the AdMigrator.exe program with the correct parameters to import and export profile with the same version:

  • To export settings, use the following statement on the older release:
    "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20xx\AdMigrator.exe" /e /product MAP /language "en-US"
  • To import settings from a current version of Map 3D, use the following statement on the current release:
    "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 20XX\AdMigrator.exe" /i /product MAP /language "en-US"

If it is only used once, just create the string and copy it to the run task in Windows (including " ").

Regards

Brigitte

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind.

BTW. I wasn't migrating from an older release. I'd reset the defaults and were trying to restore them from the ZIP backup that was created during the reset.

Since there is no pathing in the above.  The import must assume the default for the export.
