I have two shapes files, one soils, the other land use. I have found several
sources with detailed procedures using ArcGIS, nothing using Map 3D. Thank
you for responding. Jon

The command is MapGisOverlay

it is available on the Analyze tab, Feature overlay button

Type drop down  select an analysis type

to suit your needs

Save has a drop down for sdf or shp file

The resulting file will appear in display manager

Thanks for your reply. It would be most helpful however to hear from those
who may be using Map 3D for the specific purpose of calculating runoff curve
numbers for a large watershed. I have found several sources of step-by-step
instructions using Arc-GIS, but nothing for Map 3D.

I have not done that.  Sound interesting.

can you post a link to the Arc-GIS instructions?

What data do you have that will be used in the calculations?

I agree, that does sound interesting.  Out of the Box Map doesn't do this, but maybe check out the Catchment functionality in Civil 3D.  That might get you closer to what you need?

If you don't have it, you can always get the 30 day free trial here.

Best of luck, and if you ever figure it out please come back and let us know.

Cheers.
