Online MAP printing problem

Hi all!

I would like to have a layout with 2 VPs. One VP-s should have the online bing map in it.

ACAD MAP3D asks me to fix the picture to being able to print it. (WTF!!!)

When i capture it, then acad makes a picturemap object directly onto model space and i cant get it off there! If i move it away, the placement of the map also changes. i dont want it to be visible on top of everything in the model view!

How can i get rid the map from the model view and have it only in one VP on layout, and being able to print that layout?

Do this:

  1. Go to modelspace. Turn off Bing map. If a Bing map is still displayed after you have turned off Bing, select that image then hit Delete Key and delete it.
  2. Create a new layer. Name it AERIAL IMAGE. Make this new layer the current layer. See image-1.
  3. Go to Layout tab.
  4. Activate viewport 1. Center the viewport on your target and set your viewport scale. LOCK this viewport. See image-2.
  5. While on the same Layout tab, activate viewport 2. Center the view and set your viewport scale. Lock viewport 2.
  6. Go to the viewport that will display Bing Map and activate the viewport. Turn on Bing Map. See image-3.
  7. With VP still activated, go to geolocation tab=>Online Map Panel=>Capture Viewport. See image-4.
  8. With the same viewport still activated, turn OFF Bing Map. See image-5. <<Since you just captured the image, the captured image will still be displayed in the VP. Select the captured image and verify it resides on the  layer named Aerial Image, and if not, move the captured image to that layer. HINT: To select the image through the viewport, use Shift+Left Click and click directly on the image. >>
  9. Go to viewport that should not display Bing map and activate this VP. Verify Bing map is turned OFF. Refer to image-5. If the 'captured image' is displayed in this VP go to the next step to FREEZE it.
  10. With the no-image-display VP still activated, click the VIEWPORT FREEZE SYMBOL on the layer name Aerial Image. See image-6. The captured image will no longer appear in the no-image-display VP. Deactivate all VPs and print. <<Do not confuse the Viewport Freeze Symbol with the Freeze Symbol. The symbols look different and function differently.>>

Thanks. That worked well in paperspace!

But unfortunatly i still have the captured map in the model space. And i cant remove it since there is no options to turn off things in model space. (we used to draw in model space for some various reasons)
