Dear all
I would like to think that I should be able to create a drawing in Civil 3D (a parcel plan with parcel data for example), and then take the entire drawing over into Map 3D for analysis and map production. And I would like to think that this should be possible without having to first export the Civil file in another format.
Given that the two are running side by side in the same package it should be as simple as changing the user interface from Civil to Planning and Analysis, but it seems that it isn't..
Am I missing something?
So the purpose of this Post is - Can anyone point me to tutorial or explanation resources that would help me get some direct benefit from the combined packaging of Civil 3D and Map 3D?
Many thanks in advance.

Bring in parcel data from AutoCAD Civil 3D
Good afternoon parkr4st, and thanks for providing the link.
This has helped me to get a good start.
One point to note is that you have to use the Civil 3D Objects to SDF command from the Civil 3D Workspace in order to keep the parcels intact. Using the command to create SDF from DWG in the Map 3D Workspace doesn't work.
No doubt I'll be back again with more questions soon!
To all out there who might read this - all the best for 2015.
dwg objects, lines, polygons & points to sdf or shp are handled by the MAPEXPORT command. There are tutorials is map help
