I want to link an existing Access database to an object in my dwg. I'm using version 2016. When I attempt to set up the datasource, the only option for Excel is the xls format, and for Access, it's the mdb format. I'm using the newer versions of MS Office. Is there a workaround for linking to these?
Thanks,
Donna

Hello djones1,
Can you please let us know which exactly format you need.
In general the connection to Access and Excel need the ODBC driver provided from Microsoft.
For the connection in AutoCAD Map we need the ODBC drivers with the same bitnes as the operating system to configure connection.
To check the available drivers please go to:
Operating system --> ODBC --> Create New Data Source
You should see the following drivers and all this formats can be used for connection with AutoCAD Map 3D:

Hello Brigitte, Thanks for your quick reply. I was missing a step in making the database connection. I had not set up a UDL. Finally figured it out. I have been wanting to utilize my databases with the map for several years now, and just now beginning to have the opportunity and need to do so. I don't know of anyone else here that utilizes this option, so I will most likely be posting many more questions in the near future. Thanks for your help.
