Lat longs and the geo-marker

I've been tinkering around with the geo-marker functionality in Map 3D 2010, but I'm mystified as to how to position the thing. I would like to set it to an exact lat/long of my choosing. I don't want to use the tiny map in the dialogue box and I'd prefer not to use x-y coordinates. My drawing is projected in LL84 so I assumed that Map could figure it out. If Map can't figure it out then how do I convert the lat/long to x-y coordinates to get the geo-marker in an exact location? Any assistance is appreciated.

The Geo marker is a vanilla AutoCAD widget. IOW turn it off, and if you want
a marker to be at an exact location create a block with your own symbol and
use that.

Thanks Murph. I have found some utility in using the geo-marker in Map. I frequently work with unreferenced survey drawings that I want to reference into my GPS-based mapping. I have an unreferenced drawing that has a section corner identified and I know the section corner lat/long. If I manually snap the geo-marker right onto the section corner, I have a quick way to block the unreferenced drawing into my referenced map. This way I don't have to create an extraneous object to jive up the drawings.

At best what I'm describing here works "sometimes."
