High resolution raster plot problem

Hi all,

I am working on plotting some FDO connected rasters of an area measuring ~ 40Km * 50km (See "image propreties"),

When I plot a small area , whatever the scale is , (1:1000, 1:2000 , ...1:50000) everything goes fine. The problem appears when I try to plot the whole raster on A0 paper size with a scale of 1:50000 , the result is a blurred image (see "sample1"), and this occurs whether using the printer (HP T790 Model) or  with DWG to PDF plotter or any other kind of plotter. I have adjusted every single parameter the plot window containes (See "plot") , I have increased all raster command parameters (rasterdpi, rasterthreshold, rasterpercent,... , I have raised memory in raster extension option , changed OLE plot quality ...., but in vain,

I get a bad image quality also when dealing with Ecw satellite images (1pixel= 0.25m) while trying to plot an area of 1Km² with a 1:1000 scale and A0 paper Format

Is there any solution for this problem

Thank you

Hi,

>> I am working on plotting some FDO connected rasters

What happens when you use MAPIINSERT instead of MAPCONNECT?

Another idea I have seen one time (it sounds silly, but it was real, hopefully it's helpful for you too): instead of one viewport on your A0 format create 4 or 16 viewports that are one beside the other, each showing his part of the whole plan. Does that make the print better?

[EDIT] ... and there is one more option for memory and raster in Map3D: start command _MAPIOPTIONS and on tab "Memory" you can change memory consumption

From your Plot.png your driver is plotting vectors and raster image at 4800 DPI?  Your pdf files must be HUGE!  You cannot increase the quality of your rasters by increasing the plot DPI.

My DWG to PDF.pc3 file is set to 600 vector and 400 raster.  Have you tried setting those values lower - something your eye can actually see?

I agree with @Alfred.NESWADBA.  Have you tried using MAPIINSERT rather than the FDO connection?  I have run into odd issues when plotting from FDO connections.
