HELP TO CREATE A SURFACE OR MESH FROM CONTOURS THAT HAVE ELEVATION ATTRIBUTES.

Hey guys,

I need some help to be able to create a surface or a mesh from contours.  

The contours that I have have elevation so if I 3DORBIT  I can see the terrain but i want to be able to add a surface or mesh over it.

Any ideas?

You can create a GeoTIFF from that data (with a lot of hoops to jump through. You need Civil 3D to create a true triangulated surface from contour data like this. If you are a student then you have access to Civil 3D, if not then you can download and use the 30 day trial copy. WHATEVER you do - do NOT attempt to use the AutoCAD LOFT command on these - you will kill your system. (Been there - done that)

Can you elaborate on "...add a surface or mesh over it"? Map 3D has lots of display options for a surface, but what do you need to do exactly?

Can you post your drawing and/or contours?
