Export hatches to polygons?

Hi all,

Is there anyway to export hatches to polygons?

Forgot to mention:

I tried to recreate boundaries with hatchb.lsp script, and then create topology with those boundaries. But then, all "holes" in hatches are treated as new polygons. What I need is just a simple procedure to export existing hatches to .shp or anything else, just as they are, with holes and everything.

If your hatches have inner and outer boundaries as polylines then convert them together using the mpolygon command before export. The shp file will retain the geometry or islands.

Thanks for reply, JohnPM.

I have two cases.

In one, hatches have boundaries, but they are in different layer. Does this matter? If yes, I will move them to same layer.

In other case, unfortunately I have no boundaries. I found this to recreate boundaries:

http://www.jtbworld.com/lisp/hatchb.htm

But, after exporting result of this script, I have problems with islands, as mentioned before.

Is there any "proper" way to recreate inner and outer boundaries from ONLY hatches?

I have always used hatchedit for recreating boundaries with a polyline and if you are manually selecting the boundaries to create an mpolygon it should not make a difference which layer they are on. Map 2010.

Well, that is ok to recreate boundaries from few hatches. But what if you have few thousand hatches? Hatchedit doesn't allow "select all" or I am doing something wrong.
