Different versions?

I was adding a new feature on Map 3D, and I open in ArcGIS PRO, the feature didn't align.

But my collage opened on his end  same viewed as ArcGIS PRO.

Just wondering that will be the case of the versions discrepancy?

Please help.

Hello @minglang.li

Welcome to the forum. UBC?

Without opening  your drawing for examination it's hard to say. Here's a few things you should consider:

  1. Is the coordinate system in Map3D the exact same coordinate system used in ArcPro?
  2. When you created the new feature in Map3D was your WCS set to World?
  3. How did you 'create' the new feature? Draw AutoCAD object from scratch then export to your feature class? Or Map3D to edit an existing feature class?
  4. Do you use object snaps (OSNAP) to draw your lines to their correct lengths? Or do you rely on keyboard entry to draw a line the correct distance?

Hello, @ChicagoLooper

Yes, UBC.

Same coordinate system both in Map 3D and ArcGIS Pro. UBC has its own UCS, I create the new feature by using new feature from geometry. Basically, I copied over the CAD files from consultant company, rotate it, place into correct location.

If UBC has its own coordinate system then it should be used in both ArcPro and Map3D. Since you copied files from your consultant, then moved and rotated their line work, then that's your problem because your consultant didn't use UBC's custom projection.

Reverse engineering?

Would it be possible to put UBC's existing line work into a 'known coordinate system' such as UTM? Then, while in UTM, create your new feature data object with the UTM projection. Save and close the UTM drawing then reopen in ArcPro using the UBC's custom coordsys?

Assuming ArcPro already has UBC's custom projection, ArcPro will reproject the drawing from UTM to the 'custom' coordsys. If ArcPro doesn't have custom coordsystem, then you've got the worst case scenario because none of your programs, neither ArcPro or Map3D, are able to open the drawing using it's native coordinate system.
