Cannot Import Shapefiles after new installation

Hi all,

I have just installed Map 3D 2018 on a new pc and all is working as expected except I suddenly cannot import shapefiles any more. I go in through the task pane/data/connect to data/ add SHP method but when I click 'add to map' nothing happens except an exclamation mark labelled 'disconnected' appears in the task pane display manager (see attached image). The shapefiles still import correctly on colleagues computers so it is definitely a problem with my new installation but I can't figure out what.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try the drag-and-drop method. From the Windows folder, click the ‘shp’ file and drag it to modelspace. While in modelspace, pause for 3 seconds before releasing your mouse.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I assume we have version Map 3D 2020.0.1 (AutoCAD 2020.1.2) - so all updates installed.

From the description, the files seem to be fine since the colleagues can open them.

Are the SHP files located in-network? To narrow down please copy to a local directory.

Kind regards
