Autocad Map3d 2022 crash when using MAPINPORT Command

Hi,

A bug appeared about 2 weeks ago. When i'm trying to use the MAPIMPORT command, my Autocad crash after 2/3 seconds. I tried this command on Autocad MAP3D 2019 / 2020 and 2022, everytime autocad crashed and closed. Autocad 2022 was installed after the bug was discovered.

All other MAP menu commands work

Any ideas about that problem?

Hi @sebastien_pierre4QUXR

Instead of describing the amount of time it took for AutoCAD to crash and the versions you are using, describe in detail, the data you are trying to import. And explain in detail the step(s) you are taking to perform MapImport.

There might be more sophisticated ways to achieve your goal, but without descriptions and explanations, there's no determine whether your workflow is a BEST PRACTICE method.

If you upload pictures of your monitor screen before the crash it would be helpful. Better yet, upload the data that causes the crash.

I often import GIS data in shapefile format. This is a study area drawn on QGIS. There are rarely more than 5 objects inside.

The crash happens when I click on the import command from the Map - Drawing menu (or when I click on enter to validate the MAPINPORT command in the console). This happens on a blank document as well as on a more complete document.

I would like to point out that the command worked very well until last week.

Hi @sebastien_pierre4QUXR

Where are the files to be imported located? Locally on your hard drive? Or on a remote server?

Hello @sebastien_pierre4QUXR

You have already posted on the major GIS French forum : georezo.net

https://georezo.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=132162

I have tried to help you ... And I believe (not sure) that your problem is linked to a Windows Update

because all was OK a few weeks ago ...

You have all necessary Updates on your MAP 2022 and all your Support Paths are OK ...

** 1 ** As said @ChicagoLooper have you tried to Import your files from a very short LOCAL folder ?

Something like :   C:\TEST"  ... So ???

** 2 ** An other idea : try to rename or delete the SHX file before Importing your SHPs !?

Because ACAD MAP can import SHP Files with ONLY the .DBF (Attributes) and the .SHP (Graphics) !

** 3 ** Can you do a test with these Files (Points XY - SHP+DBF) from a very short LOCAL Folder like "C:\TEST" ?

Bye, Patrice (The Old French EE Froggy)
