Autodesk cpu 100%

Hello everyone,

I have a MapServer Architecture (Infrastructure Map Server 2013) composed by 2 WebServer and 3 MapServer.
Sometimes one of the MapServer “mgsprocess2013.exe”increases the use of CPU to 100% implying the crush of one or more MapServer. The only way to solve this is to stop the services (Infrastructure Map Server 2013) on all the MapServer, but sometimes is necessary kill the process and start again the services.

Analyzing the log I found this frequent errors:

Hi Michela,

whether these error messages are related to the issue or not is not clear.

First of all - analyse all frequent error messages and try to resolve the underlying causes

Second - look at the log file when the issue occurs - does a specific error message occur every time CPU goes up to 100%?

Questions
- is it always the same MapServer which crashes or do they all three crash?
* if all three crash
* are the symptoms always the same?
* do they serve the same data?
* why do you have three MapServers? How is your whole setup?

- if only one crashes
* anything specific with that one?

I dont think that any of the error messages gives away the root cause. Further research is required. If you see frequent error messages than deal with them and see if the main problem gets solved as well.

Thanks for the answer.

We are now monitoring the logs in order to locate possible common issue when CPU goes up to 100%.

About your questions:

No it’s not the same, maybe be only one or all of them. Even if it’s only one the other two present problem, for example is not possible restart the service.

Yes the symptoms are the same, when one of the MapServer have this problem it’s impossible use the cartographic services online until I restart the service on all the Servers.

We have three MapServers in order to handle multiple connections and  have better performance, but all of them contains the same data.
