Scale of .sid Image

I am importing an aerial image .sid file using Data Connect "Add Raster Image..."  When I connect it and edit the coordinate system I select UTM83-17 which is the system identified in the text file.  Once I attach the image, it is geographically correct but doesnt seem to be the correct scale.  Everything is measuring about 1/3 of what it should, so in meters vs. feet.  I want to work in feet.  I have brought in some other screenshot images and scaled them and are ultimately 3x larger than the same areas of the .sid file.

In my experience working with *.SID raster files, using MAP 3D, you should do the following:

1. Create a new drawing file and assign the coordinate system to the projection files coordinate system.

2. Use the "Mapiinsert" command to select your images and select open in the dialog box. (This should attach your raster images to the current drawing file) Save and close.

3. Open the drawing file that you wish to attach these images into, and assign a coordinate system. (MS83-EF for an SPC example)

4. In your task pane, select the tab for "Map Explorer".

5. Right click "Drawings", "Attach", find and select the drawing you previously saved.

6. Right click "Current Query", "Define", (Query Type) "Location", "All", (Query Mode) "Draw", (Options) "Zoom Ext<", "Execute Query".

This should convert the coordinate matrixes of the *.SID raster images insertion to the appropriate coordinate plane.

Thanks,
