AutoCAD LT 2015 Etransmit Issues

When using AutoCAD LT 2015 and trying to etransmit multiple files that each contain multiple tiers of xrefs beneath, the etransmit zip does not include all of the files that were added to the etransmit.  Zip includes all of the immediate xrefs that are part of the host drawing and maybe one or two of the added files. The behavior is consistent no matter which file I start with.  Note that I made the same exact etransmit with full AutoCAD 2015 and the etransmit works fine so this appears to be an LT bug or limitation.  Also note that the transmittal report text file that is included in the zip lists all of the files that were supposed to be included including the missing files.

Transmittal setup was as follows:

-zip

-keep existing formats

-maintain visual fidelity not checked

-use organized folder structure

-set default plotter to none

-include fonts

-include files from data links

-include unloaded file references

I have installed SP 1.  I'm using LT on win 7 pro.

Any help is appreciated.

-Mark

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I attempted to reproduce this in LT 2015 with a similar sized dataset that includes multiple nested Xrefs, but all of the files were included.

  1. Your screenshots show 76 files selected for the transmittal. How many files were actually included in the resulting zip?
  2. Where are you saving the new zip file? If saving to a network location, please  try saving it locally.
  3. Is there any difference if you change Path options in the transmittal setup to Place all files in one folder?
  4. What about using the Folder package type, rather than zip?

Thanks 🙂

Christina,

In response to your questions, I offer the following:

  1. 46 files were actually included in the resulting zip.  There should have been 76.  Note that I have tried this from multiple projects with the same results.
  2. I was saving to a new zip file and the location was my local C drive (my documents folder).
  3. No difference when trying out all three path options in the transmittal setup.
  4. Folder package seems to work which is a better alternative than zipping up each file (i.e. etrans only the file you are in with no added files).  It appears that the zip package fails when it starts reading the "added" files.   It will copy the very first added file and all other files including their xrefs are excluded.  The etrans process is noticeably quicker which is what first caught my attention.  I knew something was off.

So I still believe there is a bug in the program.  Thanks for the response.

Hi Mark,

Since another user logged onto the same machine is able to perform the full eTransmit, you have a couple of options.

  1. Try a full uninstall and reinstall : http://knowledge.autodesk.com/article/How-to-perform-a-clean-uninstall-of-an-Autodesk-product
  2. Build a new Windows profile: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-corrupted-user-profile#1TC=windows-7
  3. Change the eTransmit Package Type to Folder rather than zip, since that worked, and then manually zip up the folder

Thanks 🙂

Thought I would follow up on this.  This problem persisted into the next release (autocad lt 2016). The only solution that worked for me was a full and complete uninstall of every single autodesk product on my computer including a registry clean up and deleting all autodesk folders.  And for clarification, no one else was able to log on to this machine (under any windows log on) and perform a full error free etransmit. Thanks. -Mark
